Privacy policy

Overview

calcso is a free, browser-based calculator hub. We're built around a single principle: do the calculation in your browser, keep the data in your browser, and collect as little as possible.

This page explains what we do and don't collect. If anything is unclear, you can reach us via the contact form.

What we collect

Server logs. When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider records standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, response time). These logs are retained for a short period for security and operational purposes only.

Anonymous analytics. We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics product that does not use cookies and does not store personal information. It records aggregated page views and referrers so we know which calculators are useful — nothing that identifies an individual.

Messages you send us. If you write to us via the contact form, we receive your name, email and message so we can reply.

What stays in your browser

Your inputs to any calculator (loan amount, weight, height, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to us. Some preferences — your selected language, theme (light/dark) and currency — are stored in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. They never leave your device.

For more detail see our Cookie Policy.

Third parties

We use a small number of third parties to keep the site running:

• Umami (cloud.umami.is) — cookie-less, privacy-friendly analytics. • Our hosting provider — serves the site and keeps short-term server logs. • Resend — sends emails when you submit the contact form.

None of these are advertising services and none receive any data about your calculator inputs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we don't ask for accounts and don't track individuals, in most cases we hold no personal data tied to you. The exception is messages you send via the contact form, which we keep until they're resolved.

To exercise any of these rights, get in touch via the contact form.

Children

calcso is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through the contact form, get in touch and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
